Cookie and Tracker Policy
This page details the cookies and equivalent trackers (including localStorage) used by Immersio, in compliance with Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act and CNIL guidelines.
1. What is a cookie or tracker?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. The term "tracker" more broadly refers to any device that stores or reads information on your terminal (HTTP cookie, localStorage, sessionStorage, client identifier, invisible pixel, etc.).
2. Your choices
On your first visit, a banner allows you to accept, refuse, or customize non-essential trackers. You can modify your preferences at any time:
- from your personal dashboard, "Privacy" section;
- by clicking the "Manage cookies" button in the footer.
Refusing non-essential trackers has no impact on service access. Only trackers strictly necessary for platform operation remain active.
3. Strictly necessary trackers (no consent required)
These trackers are essential for service operation. They are deployed on the basis of contract execution and the exemption provided by CNIL for strictly necessary trackers.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
immersio_studio |
HTTP Cookie (httpOnly, secure) | Administrator back-office authentication | 90 days |
immersio_token |
localStorage | Learner authentication token (JWT) | 90 days |
immersio_user |
localStorage | Remembering logged-in user profile | 90 days |
immersio_consent |
HTTP Cookie | Saving your tracker preferences | 6 months |
__stripe_* |
Stripe Cookies | Payment security and fraud prevention | 30 minutes to 1 year |
4. Audience and conversion measurement (consent required)
With your consent, two measurements are enabled. (1) In-house audience measurement: a visit identifier is stored on your device and traffic data is hosted by us in the European Union, to improve the usability of the service (no third-party tool, no Matomo, no Google Analytics). (2) Advertising conversion measurement: when you reach the site from one of our ads, a pixel from our partner ChatGPT Ads (OpenAI) measures the effectiveness of our campaigns; for that sole purpose, browsing data is sent to OpenAI, a company established outside the European Union. The plain anonymous, aggregate page-view count sets no tracker and requires no consent.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
immersio_vid |
First-party cookie | Anonymous visit identifier — distinguish returning visits to measure real usage of the service | 24 months |
oaiq (ChatGPT Ads) |
Third-party tracker (OpenAI) | ChatGPT Ads conversion pixel — measure the effectiveness of our ads (browsing data sent to OpenAI, outside the EU) | Per OpenAI's policy |
5. Trackers not used
Apart from the ChatGPT Ads conversion measurement described in section 4, Immersio does not use:
- other advertising or retargeting cookies (Google Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, etc.);
- embedded social networks (Facebook share buttons, Twitter, etc.);
- heatmaps or session recording (Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, etc.);
- commercial profiling.
6. Fonts and technical resources
Fonts (Inter), stylesheets (Tailwind), and libraries (CodeMirror) are self-hosted on our servers. No requests are made to Google Fonts, jsdelivr, or third-party CDNs that could transfer your IP address to a third party.
7. How to refuse or delete these trackers?
- Via the consent banner on your first visit.
- From your personal dashboard at any time.
- Via your browser settings (manual cookie deletion).
